Steam to the 150th Bendigo Easter Fair Presented by Steamrail Victoria
Steam to Easter Fair

Join Steamrail as we head to Bendigo for a day at the 150th Bendigo Easter Fair behind historic high speed passenger steam locomotive R711 'Spirit of Bendigo' (one way) and streamlined diesel locomotive A66. Steam Locomotive R711 will be waiting in Bendigo for our train to arrive, and will haul the train back to Melbourne in the afternoon.

There is much to see and do for the whole family at the Bendigo Easter Fair. Watch the Gala Parade, be entertained by roving street performers, visit the Rotary market or art gallery,  have fun at the Central Carnival on the rides, ride the vintage tram, wander around and admire the grandeur of the ‘gold era’ buildings or have a quiet lunch at one of the many fine hotels and cafes.

The 150th Bendigo Easter Fair will culminate when thousands of people line the streets on Easter Monday to watch the gorgeous display of colour in the Gala Parade. Experience the excitement as Bendigo’s newest Dragon Dai Gum Loong (the world’s longest Imperial Dragon!), weaves his way through the historic streetscapes of Bendigo in his first solo parade outing.

Sit back in your comfortable compartment and enjoy the scenery or relax in Moorabool Club Car and enjoy morning tea as our classic steam locomotive powers through the line's historic tunnels and viaducts. On arrival at Bendigo there is four hours to explore. After a full day out, relax in your comfortable 1920s or 1940s carriage with a snack, or some light refreshments as we take you home to Melbourne.
